Mission

“Givers Gain” is the BNI, Business Network International, motto. The Rose City Chapter strongly believes in this philosophy. We live, work, play, raise our families, and pursue our dreams in this community, so we strive to create and seize opportunities to give back several times throughout the year. The thing that makes Rose City BNI unique is that our individual members, as well as our chapter as a whole, embrace this philosophy. It is a lifestyle for each member to be a giver.

The chapter took on its first project in 2007, not long after its inception. Members assembled and pooled resources to donate time, services, and supplies to renovate and paint a large space at the Norwich YMCA.

In 2008, the chapter took on a much larger project when members pulled together to work with ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to build a castle for the Girard family of Voluntown, CT, who had lost a father and brother in a tragic accident. The list only grows from there.

Projects including; winterizing a girl scout camp in Lebanon, cleaning up the streets of Downtown Norwich, and organizing and renovations to Madonna Place are just a few of the chapter projects.

The chapter also collects food and toys to donate annually to both the Gemma Moran Food Bank and Toys for Tots. Individual members have helped countless local families with construction projects, food during Thanksgiving, and gifts during the holidays.

As you explore this page, you will find several examples of both chapter efforts and individual efforts to support and improve our community by giving back.
